Immediately before founding his own consulting firm, Bill was with Epicor|CRS. Bill joined Apropos Retail Management Systems in 1997 and rose to become Director of Implementation and Support. Bill was a key player in the company’s success and growth. Apropos was acquired by CRS Retail Systems in late 2005. Subsequently, CRS was acquired by Epicor Software. Epicor|CRS provides software and services to over 130 of today’s top retailers. Throughout this period Bill contributed his retail experience to the development and implementation of new software that was successfully used by small and medium-size retailers. In addition, he was central in organizing, training and assembling teams whose efforts were successful in providing the highest levels of customer satisfaction. He also worked directly with clients to implement improvements in such areas as merchandising, reporting, inventory management, sales audit and accounting. For the twenty years previous to joining Apropos, JCPenney was the beneficiary of Bill's expertise. Highlights include being the 1994 recipient of the prestigious Chairman’s Award, in recognition of his managing a top store in sales and profit. He was tapped to close an older store and take charge of opening a new 90,000-square-foot store. This task included managing the team responsible for planning and buying merchandise, display of that merchandise and the hiring and training of all store associates. Bill was one of two store managers nominated by the CEO to a 12-person Corporate Task Force, charged with organizational review of the merchandising process. Other positions held by Bill at JCPenney are clear indicators of his extraordinary breadth of experience: the Corporate positions of Operations Programs Manager and Manager of Retail Systems Applications (where he oversaw the roll-out of an inventory system used by thousands of management associates as well as major upgrades in the store Point of Sale systems); Business Planning Manager; and various in-store positions such as Merchandise Manager and District Level Business Planning Manager. Bill is a graduate of Washington State University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. Go figure.
